Solve: |x+5|=3x-7

|x+5|=3x-7 
means 
x+5=3x-7 or -(x+5)=3x-7
2x=12 4x=2 
x=6 x=1/2 

clearly x=1/2 is not a solution(why?), but x=6 is a solution
