What value of x will you get by solving for x in 3/(x+a) = b/2?

Taking the reciprocal of both sides give us:
+%28x%2Ba%29%2F3+=2%2Fb
multiply both sides by 3:
3+%28x%2Ba%29%2F3+=3%2A2%2Fb
subtract a from both sides:
x%2Ba-a=6%2Fb-a
x=6%2Fb-a
