Absolute Value of a real number

The absolute value of a real number is it's distance from 0 on the number line. Therefore an absolute value must be on the interval [0, oo). If a number is positive then |a|=a and if it is negative then |a|=-a.

what's the definition of closure property?

A set has closure under a particular operation or set of operations if execution of the operation(s) on elements of the set always results in an element also belonging to same set. If a set is closed under an operation or collection of operations is said to satisfy a closure property.

is 43 or 46 a consecutive number

Yes and no. These two numbers are consecutives, but not to each other. Consecutive - without a modifier - means that they differ by 1. For example 42,43,44 and 45,46,47 are the consecutives associated with 43 and 46.
